Heyyy there! Thanks for visiting my little space of the internet.
I should probably introduce myself. I am Laura, a self confessed shoe addict, freelance illustrator and mayonnaise lover (has to be Hellmans real though).
I started this blog many, many years ago and it morphed into the typical ‘fashion blog’ of a 20 year old before the rise of Instagram. I shared what I wore and wrote about where I bought everything from. I have so many horrific outfits on this blog if you dare to scroll back. I am honestly unsure of how I ever thought I had any kind of fashion sense.
I have had a love-hate relationship with this blog since I started my final year of University. I didn’t have as much time as I used to, and Instagram took over. I could post an outfit on Instagram and tag where I bought everything from on there. Why would anybody want to go to my website just to see the same thing? So I started writing more and I loved it. Even though I found a love for writing, I still lost touch with my blog. Even throughout my year of travels, I still didn’t write on here which on reflection is absolutely crazy. I guess life just got in the way and I was too busy living in the moment to worry about jotting down all of these experiences.
So whats next for smileatstyle.com? Now I am working for myself I have so much more time on my hands and the freedom to do what I like from day to day. I am excited to fall back in love with blogging once more. Alongside illustrating for customers and commissioning one of a kind drawings, I’m also going to be selling my drawings to buy as prints on here too.
Smileatstyle.com will be a huge insight into every aspect of me. I’ll be writing about my new venture as a freelancer, the backstories of my drawings, experiences I have gained through travel and anything that is on my mind and worth writing about. I still love fashion, and I want to write about that too as this will always be a styling blog at heart. I’ll always be that 20 year old with a slightly questionable fashion sense that wants to ramble on about why she paired a pair of leopard print trousers with a stripy top and red heels.
What you’ll find about me as you read my blog posts is that sometimes I just don’t know where to stop. So I’ll leave you here. Have a lovely day and I hop you stick around!
