I have been wanting to share my skincare routine on here for a long time now. I have struggled with really bad eczema on my face, hands and other areas of my body since I was a baby and it can be really hard to keep it at bay sometimes. I’ll go through phases of amazingly clear skin and then I will have a huge breakout and when this happens I am well and truly devastated.
When I have a breakout, I know it is so important to let my skin breathe and heal on its own. The worst thing about this is that you can’t hide puffy, dry redness with makeup, it just makes it worse. And to be honest, it looks worse too. It isn’t like covering a spot… whatever makeup I cover it with, it just completely flakes and creases. I genuinely feel like I look like a lizard with scales all around my eyes!
My last big breakout was in November which was 3-4 months ago now which I feel is a really good run for me! I want to share the changes that I have made and how I am maintaining clear skin. If I can help just one person I will be happy as I know how awful eczema can make you feel, especially when its all over your face.
I’ve had to use a hydrocortisone cream around my eyes when it’s got really bad, which is of course to be avoided when possible as it is so damaging for your skin with it being so strong. I have mainly used other products to get rid of the demon crazy red dry rash, mostly 100% natural too which is so much better for your skin than a steroid cream. I never wear makeup during the working week anymore apart from small exceptions and I think that is one of the main things that has helped me (I actually forgot to mention this in the video – oops!)
I could literally ramble on forever and a huge essay is not something anybody can be bothered with, so Ive decided to ramble in video form instead! Let me know in the comments if you found this helpful or if you have any advice for me too. Over the years my skin has agreed with products and then it has changed its mind, so any other options would be great!
