Last weekend I was invited to a super fabulous blogging day and it was probably one of the best events I have ever been invited to. I was invited to Barton Arcade in Manchester for a fun day of eating, shopping and drinking around Barton square with some lovely WeBlogMcr babes.
Holly, Ellie, Ali, Kat and I first headed to Pot Kettle Black. I could literally write a whole blog post dedicated to this meal, there are that many lovely things to say about this place. We had a taster of a few dishes, my favourite (and everyone else’s for that matter) was the blueberry cheesecake French toast. Words can’t describe the heavenly feeling that enters your soul when you eat this. Borderline outer body experience. You must try. I will be returning with all of my friends to spread the word. It is even nicer than it looks, and it looks pretty damn beautiful if you ask me.
Next up was this delish breakfast roll that has a PRETZEL BUN. Yes you heard right, I said PRETZEL BUN. It was as delicious as it sounds. Inside the best bun evz was a pork and fennel sausage patty, smoked bacon, egg, cheddar cheese and tamarind relish. Get yours now before I eat them all.
Then there was the N’duja eggs which are cracked into and baked in a tomato sauce with smoked mozzarella and pecorino cheese. So delicious and the yolk was perfectly runny and lovely!
After the delish lunch we headed to a few shops in Barton arcade. We had a cheeky look at what fab holiday deals Sta Travel currently have on offer, we found some absolute bargains in Jill Black clothing and Jeffery West shoes were incredible. We weren’t allowed inside Barber Barber because it is strictly ‘men only.’ I find that quite strange – what if I wanted a mens haircut? Anyway, I still managed to take a cheeky snap!
We then went on the roof of Barton Arcade and took some cute piccies of us blogger ladies!
Then it was onto some more food (woo!) at Lunya which was INCREDIBLE. We had three tapas each and a cheeky glass of wine. I chose the hake bites with béchamel sauce, (the best thing I think I’ve ever eaten!) some calamari (because when do you ever not get calamari when it’s on the menu?) and some hummus and pitta bread (same again – when do you not get hummus and pitta when it’s on the menu?) we obviously all had a bite of each other’s and I have to say it was one of the best tapas I’ve ever had! I am 100% going to being each and every one of my friends back here. GORJ.
Now onto one of the most exciting parts of the day… we each got a blow dry at Too Funky Hair. It was so fabulous in there. Sarah who took care of me and my extremely knotty hair (sorry again Sarah!) was absolutely lovely and did such a good job. I got a textured curls blow dry (and not too bouncy or I’d have lost length) I can’t thank her enough for making me feel so welcome. We even got a free glass of champagne which was an added plus. My curls lasted for three days and I am now wondering whether it is too extravagant to get a blow dry twice a week lol!
After we had been pampered, shopped till we dropped and were well and truly full to the brink of delish food, we headed to Be at One bar which I had no idea was there! I got my fav Pornstar Martini and tried a Kinder Bueno cocktail too which has now become my all time fav cocktail ever – a milkshake that gets you tipsy? Sign me up.
I want to thank Barton Arcade, the lovely girls from Six and Flow for inviting me to this event, the places that welcomed us in and the blogger babes that came along for this fabulous day. I had an absolute ball. Have any of you been to these places in Barton Arcade? Had anyone forgot it existed till today like me? I’ll definitely be returning for another girly day out in the very near future.
